Practical wellness from a runner who had to rebuild his own health.
I share the habits, experiments, and lessons that helped me improve my health, running, sleep, and daily discipline — without pretending there is one miracle answer.
Why I started taking health seriously
I began adult life with a Business — Accounting degree and started my career in accounting. The work had its rewards, but over time I also developed unhealthy eating habits that stayed with me for many years.
For a long time, I thought just running (longer and longer distances) could compensate for poor eating. But no matter how much I ran, I was a runner with high cholesterol.
For years, I kept doing more of the same. I trained, worked, pushed myself, and told myself I was healthy because I could run — while ignoring the habits that were quietly working against me.
By some measures, I was fit. But in reality, I was carrying more body fat than I wanted, my blood markers were not where they should have been, and my sleep was not working properly.
More kilometres alone were not the answer.
Eventually, I stopped asking only how much more I could run and started asking a better question: what else in my life needed to change?
I changed the way I ate, removed meat from my diet, and began experimenting with different forms of fasting. Eventually, I completed a multi-day water-only fast.
I also added back simple disciplines: a night routine that helped me properly end the day, regular stillness, and time to reset instead of constantly pushing.
Over time, my cholesterol came under control, my bloodwork improved, my sleep became better, and my running improved too. That experience changed how I think about health: not as one trick, but as a set of habits that support each other.
What I share now
I write and talk about food, fasting, running, exercise, routines, stillness, and sleep — especially how these things work together in real life. I share what I have personally practised, what I am still learning, and what I believe is worth considering carefully.
My promise to readers
I am not here to sell miracle answers. I share from personal experience, careful observation, and ongoing learning. When I recommend a product, service, book, tool, routine, or idea, I will aim to be clear about why I believe it is useful, what I personally know, what I do not know, and whether I may benefit financially.
My goal is not to pressure anyone. My goal is to help people make better, more thoughtful decisions for their own health, discipline, and daily life.
